Synopsis:  War is near and it is threatening everything that Feyre holds near and dear to her heart.  With everything that happened under the mountain she has returned to the Spring Court to gather as much information about Tamlin and the invading King of Hybern to be able to bring them to their knees.  Its treacherous one wrong word or slip of her carefully crafted secrets and it could spell the end for not only Feyre, but their world as well.

OMG!!! Where do I start?! I literally could not put this book down.  I bought the hardback to read and when I obviously could not sit at work and read that book I bought the kindle book and read it on my phone.  It was just that good!  According to the author she is bringing this chapter to a close but she will still tell stories from Prythian.  I know I normally try to do spoiler free reviews but this is definitely not going to be one of those times.  Lets get to it.

The book starts with Rhys about two years before the wall went up and he is on the killing field surveying all the dead and looking for Azriel and Cassian amongst them.  As he looked and saw how far the dead went on he kept going all of his powers depleted but still looked for his brothers.  Maas has broken the book into three parts the first being Princess of Carrion and it starts with Feyre in Spring Court panting what she sees. Its been a few weeks since she got there and she is hiding her true self.  She is there as a spy for her people she wants to see just what Tamlin will do along with the King of Hybern.  She wants revenge for what happened to her sisters.  She wants Tamlin and the high priestess to pay dearly.  Of course I get her need for revenge but the problem that I had with Feyre was that she did this not thinking about the consequences that would arise from figuratively burning Tamlin and Ianthe to the ground.  And that way of thinking would definitely come back to bite her on the ass.

Part two is Cursebreaker and it picks up with Feyre and Lucian sneaking into the Autumn Court after their escape from Tamlin.  She knew it was time for her to run but she didn’t intend on having Lucian with her.  During part two of Feyre is back home in the night court and at they are trying to rally as many troops as they can for this great war.  Hybern hits the Summer Court without warning and they begin to see just what they are up against.  They call for all the High Lords to meet and come up with a plan to fix the wall using Nesta’s ties to the cauldron itself.  Feyre makes some surprising request from “people” you would never expect and you have to wait until the last part of the book to figure out if they will come through or not.

Part three is High Lady it is the beginning of the end of the book as well as the fight that has been building throughout the other books.  Alliances are tested and only one side comes out on top.  There are many deaths and many near deaths. they are all in constant danger and you don’t know until the very end just who will survive or who will win.

I honestly loved everything about this book.  I laughed out loud and I even got a little misty eyed.  I’m glad that the series isn’t coming to an end and I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens to everyone in Prythian because regardless of how this book ended this story is far from being over. I give this book and this series 4 out of 5 stars.  And I’m telling you if you haven’t read it go and read it now!
