This book was amazeballs!!!  Like I said in my previous post it will really have you questioning your own sanity.  Its so chilling to read a book from behind the eyes of what is clearly an insane person but still feel a little sorry for them because the object of their obsession is just as crazy as they are.  There are so many words I can use to describe this book scary, hypnotic, and a little unsettling.  It is just really an awesome book.  After reading this book there are so many things that I’m terrified of doing now.  Simple things like tagging yourself at a place on facebook or talking about different things you like on twitter.  Not that I’m important enough to even have a stalker but honestly you just never know. LOL

The book begins with the insane inner monologue of a clerk at a New York bookstore named Joe Goldberg.  A girl walks into his store and he immediately claims that this girl has “come home to him”.  Once she is ready to check out you guys have a good back and forth banter that nobody would think twice about.  Just a slight flirtation.  But Joe is able to learn the cute girls name from her paying with her card.  It is Guinevere Beck.  But she just goes by Beck.

From that point on the lengths that Joe goes to stalk this woman are INSANE!  I know I’m using that word a lot but that is honestly the only word I can think of to describe it.  He steals her phone in order to read her emails, he breaks into her apartment and becuase she came home while he was snooping he had to jump out the window and he blamed her for it.  Even though at this point they had only met the one time.  Beck comes across as a typical girl she doesn’t seem to do anything out of the ordinary.  The longer Joe watches her, the worst of a person she becomes. At least in my opinion. She was terrible to her friends but was a complete doormat to her boyfriend and another friend named Peach.

I’m not going to give away too much because I really want you guys to read this book.  But needless to say is that Joe does everything in his power to be in Beck’s life including getting rid of those people that are in his way. *hint hint*   Joe is so meticulous in how he puts himself in Beck’s life that she never sees him coming.  And everything is going good until he finds out that Beck is interested in another guy.  Like I’ve said Beck was just as screwed up, well I take that back she wasn’t as bad as Joe but she was pretty bad.

My rating for this book is definitely 5 Stars.  The writing, the main characters, even the extra characters are so well described.  Caroline Kepnes is able to paint an entire scene and it honestly feels like you are in the book, like you are moving around the city with these people.  This is definitely an adult book I wouldn’t recommend anyone under 16 reading this book at all mostly due to the sexual content and the violence.  There is a sequel to this book called Hidden Bodies that continues Joe’s story.  From what I’ve read on the book jacket Joe is happy but he’s a little scared that his past is going to catch up to him.  I’m definitely excited to read that.

I hope you guys liked my review feel free to leave comments I’ll definitely respond. Happy reading guys!!
